Things to Do, Things to Do!!!

I have soooo much to do today!! Sooo, why am I on here blogging? you may ask...well, cause in case you forgot, I am a.....PROCRASTINATOR!!! I'd rather blog first before having to clean my house!! Ha!
Ok, so my sister calls me up this morning and was like, ''Um, I'm thinking about just coming up tonight after work''. I'm thinkin', ''darn it, I need to clean today instead of tomorrow'', as I say, ''YEAH!!!'' to her over the phone. Well, this morning the kids were at top notch, record, breaking speed at getting their homework done!!! Jeepers, maybe I should tell them everyday that their aunt is coming so that they get their homework done like that everyday!! Lol!! woa...sooo coffee in this blog!!
I was really hoping that Mary Poppins would come and ''snap'' her fingers and my house would be ''spit spot'' and that the Fairly Godmother could come too so she could wave her wand and turn me into a beautiful princess....but my friend, Becky is keeping them hostage until her house is clean. So my friend, Kate came up with a plan to break into her house and kidnap them!! YES!! **Leading you all on rabbit trails**
So the kids are done with school, supper is in the crock pot, I have yet to shower, I am working on the last load of laundry, mending needs to be done, and then clean my house. All this will be done with several facebook updates in between and much stalking. Can you sense my laziness, my procrastination, my lack of wanting to clean my house, my ''I'd rather do anything else'' attitude?? :)
At the end of the day, I will be a frazzled, crazed woman with a clean house all because I procrastinated and waited til the last minute to get everything in order!!
Well, I better get cleaning....oh wait, she won't be here til midnight, so I've got PLENTY of time!!! YES!!

''Pee Wee''

Ok, ok...not sure why I am torturing myself!! Haha!! So like I said on facebook and blog post, yesterday I took a trip down memory lane and pulled out my old Patch the Pirate tapes. Yes, I even listened to some :) Jessica just LOVES them!!! Anyhoo, after all the comments about Patch the Pirate...aka: Ron Hamilton...and comments about Camp Joy, it brought back memories of camp and my childhood :) I then realized where Joshua got his short stature :)
My childhood friend, Rachel, and I had gone to camp together many times (Oh, the stories!!). I also had gone with my older sister and another friend, Sarah, and Rachel one year...um, yeah, that's a funny picture too :) Well, one of the years I had gone with my friend, Rachel, I was the shortest girl in our room....even after the girl standing next to me had to stand back to back to make sure that she was indeed taller than me :) I soon got the nickname Pee Wee...after Pee Wee in the Patch the Pirate series. That was the same year I fell off the top bunk and had gotten a huge bruise on my hip....that hurt! So I got out of the hike the next morning. This was also the same year that our camp counselor, the one on the left, sprained her arm after going down the Super Slide....yeah, took me years before I braved that water slide!!
Anyways, so today I scanned this picture and took a picture of it with my phone. Not sure why the lines all showed up. But then I had to take a picture of the back, showing proof of my nickname :)
So yeah, I'm the Pee Wee with the stylish glasses and awesome apparel!! Those reading this blog who know Rachel (Boos) Steele...yeah, she hasn't changed in looks!! :)
Hope this gave ya a little chuckle today :)

Amazed

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

NEED I SAY ANYTHING???? His LOVE is AMAZING!!! Thank you, Jesus!!

AMAZED ~Desperation Band

You danced over me
While I am unaware
You sing all around
But I never hear the sound

Lord I am amazed by You
Lord I am amazed by You
Lord I am amazed by You
How You love me

How wide
How deep
How great
Is Your love for me

Tid Bits

Here's just a few things from the weekend up to this morning...
Saturday:
Ran a few errands to Eau Claire then decided to go ice fishing. Seriously?? Why?? Well, it takes forever to get ready, then by the time we get to where we are gonna fish we have to set up. By the time all that's done, it's time to pack up and go home! Well, we went anyways and caught nothing and went home.
Sunday:
Um, what were we thinking?? Did we really think we could beat the storm? Yep, we did...and went ice fishing. Finally, at 3:00, we couldn't take it anymore. We were getting pounded with snow from outside and drowning inside the ice shack from all the snow melting on the outside of the shack due to the heater being on in the inside. It was dripping wet inside...enough was enough!! Jason drove home...I am a nervous wreck driving in the snow!!
All in all, I think we had gotten 8 inches or so...I wanted the whole 15 inches that was possibly predicted :(
Monday:
We were gonna go ice fishing, but as I was getting ready, Jason was outside and our neighbor asked if he could snow blow her driveway...she was going out of town for a few days. So we ended up shoveling instead...which was fine by me, I had laundry to work on.
My sister, Molly called to ask if Jason and I wanted to go out for my birthday :) She is coming up on my birthday with the kids!!! I AM SUPER EXCITED!!! I will most likely just stay home though as originally planned :) I'd rather spend my birthday with my family :) So, I will have to post pictures of my birthday weekend next week.
Later that afternoon, I decided (which I don't know why) to go grocery shopping while it was still snowing!!! At first the roads didn't look bad. But as I was driving, I told Jesse and Jessica that I wanted to turn around and just go home...but I braved it. On the way home, I had a train of cars following me cuz, well, I was driving slow!! :)
Tuesday morning:
Yeah!! I have ink again!! So now I can print out homework instead of handwriting out EVERYTHING!! :) Before I started, I just HAD to dig out my old Patch the Pirate tapes!! I want the kids to hear them...they have such good stories and songs and biblical principles. So we listened to one of my favorite ones when I was a kid...yesterday ;) Camp Kookawacka Woods!! I had fun listening to it, Jesse was trying to figure it out, and well the others were upstairs. I am hoping to use this during our Bible time...we'll see :)
Well, that pretty much sums up our weekend....I know, I know...nothing really new, but that's ok :)

Spring Cleaning...of the Soul

l Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.
Whew!! What a morning it has been!! I am so very thankful for the people that God has brought into my life!! My spring cleaning of the soul has been long overdue. Just when I think that I have it all together, God gently reminds me of that weee little thing that I am still holding onto...so I quickly ''brush'' it off and think, ''I'll be fine.'' Seconds turn into minutes, minutes into hours, hours into days, days into months and still things haven't gotten better. I keep ''telling'' myself, ''I'm fine.'' Then God gently asks, ''Are you ready to let go yet?''
So with much needed tears, while talking to a friend...I felt the Spirit of God move over me as she prayed for me, for satan to let go of the hold he had over, to let go of what I have been holding onto...memories in a folder, nothing bad, just things I had to personally let go in order to let God work in me. It's gone. I couldn't have done it without God, the power of prayer, and a friend.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
ll Corinthians 10:3-5 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to pulling down of strong hold;)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to obedience of Christ.
Hebrews 4:14-16 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into he heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Ephesians 6:10, 11, 16 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Satan knows my weakness...I am prepared for the battle!! God WILL reign Victorious in my life!!

Signs That Spring is Just Around the Corner!

Here are a few things that I notice when ya know that spring is coming soon.
~The most obvious...the snow is melting and you see that familiar brownish, greenish stuff we call grass!
~The neighbors quickly notice how disgusting our yard looks now that the dog's droppings are not covered in snow.
~The dog feels the need to be outside 10x's before lunch because it's getting warmer.
~It's actually hot in the house.
~Husband comes home covered with a mix of mud (due to the melting snow) and that other stuff that I won't mention...yuck!
~The kids are dying to get their bikes down.
~I will be spending less time on facebook and more time outside...that is, if we're not terminated before then. Wait a second, did I just say that I'll be spending less time on facebook?
~More cooking is done on the grill...ooops, wait, ours is broken...not good, I LOVE grilling!!
~You see other people who have been experiencing ''cabin fever'' as they are outside walking in a t-shirt and pants and it's only 40 out! Like today!
~The mittens, hats, and scarves get to stay home when we do errands.
~Fooled ya!! It's cold again!!
~Fooled ya again!! Snow storm coming!!

Ahhh, yes, the signs of spring...

I Encourage You to Read it! :)

I am so thankful for facebook! It helps me to stay in touch with friends and family. During my lunchtime stalking, I came across my friend, Rhonda. Rhonda...I love her! :) I love how straight forward and to the point she is! She doesn't beat around the bush, she tells ya like it is! I love her honesty and straight forwardness about God and herself. Well, one of her comments had me searching for a verse, and I found it in Romans 8:31b, but as I read it, I had to read the verses before it, then had to read the verses before that one, and then I find myself reading the whole chapter!! I love Romans 8, one of my favorite passages :) I have many favorite verses in this chapter, but the ones that stick out the most to me are verses 6-10...I know when I am not like minded as Christ, it does not please God and things fall apart. Verses 26-27...there are many times when I cry out to God, I just can't find the words to speak, but I know that the Holy Spirit is there to make intercession. God knows my heart even if I can't find the words! Verses 35, 38-39...all I have to say is, Thank you Jesus!! Even though there are days where I feel so far from Him, He is always there, nothing can separate His love for me!!
So, I truly encourage you, if you haven't read Romans 8 in a while...READ IT!!! :)

Why did I have to knock on wood?

Ok, yes, after all my bragging on facebook on how we all have been ''sick free'' since we moved (knock on that stupid piece of wood), lo and behold, we are all sick....and, ''WHERE IS THE KLEENEX ALREADY???'' ugh...I mean, I can't even bend my head down to work on my weekly Sodoku puzzle from our weekly paper without my nose runnin'!!
I am rightfully blaming this on my friend Kris!! We thought we'd be so kind to have their family over for supper and games and what do they give us in return?? Colds!! Thanks!! hahaha...she knows I'm kidding!! ;)
It started with Joshua last week and I am such a horrible parent and still made him do school, never realizing that he had a fever!! Then Jessica got it and I never believed her cause I thought she was just wanting attention cause Joshua was getting ''medical attention''...yep, horrible parent, AGAIN!! We loaded them all up on drugs...ok, ok...tylenol and cough medicine, so that we could go ice fishing...haha...oops, I mean, we are such horrible parents (but we caught enough fish for a fish dinner...) Jessica had a terrible bloody nose one evening after we came home from ice fishing, but she seems to be prone to bloody noses :\
Jesse now has not been feeling well, yet I keep pushin' school...well, if you were TWO months behind, would you? unless you knew that they were deathly ill...then I may consider giving them the day off, ha!
Today, Jacob put himself to bed and fell asleep...yep, he's definitely sick!!
Goodness, I can't wait until we all feel bet..aaaahhhchooooo...ter!!

Bad timing...

Lately on facebook, I have been mentioning how I have been having unexpected visits, by our neighbor or the handyman. Nothing is more embarrassing than being caught in your pj's at 9:00 am and then again the same day but at 10:30 am and on top of that, having the house look like World War III took place!!
As the neighbor stops over, I find myself ''trying'' to straighten up what is visible, but then give up cause, what's the use?
Last week Thursday, the landlord called and prepared me by letting me know that the handyman was coming over to install carbon monoxide detectors. So, I got ready, showered, picked up the house a bit cause I was warned, told ahead of time of his coming. He never showed. Friday morning, I had already forgot about Thursday's ''no show'', so as the doorbell rang at 9:00am...I was NOT ready!!! Still in my pj's and the house was a mess already!! If that wasn't embarrassing enough, another guy came back at 10:30am and again I was not ready! He decided to come back a half hour later so he could get parts for our oven. So, detectors were installed and the oven door got fixed. This Monday, I had another unexpected visit from the handyman, but thankfully it was the afternoon and I was mostly ready...the house was not. He then prepared me and said he would be back Tuesday to fix the toilet, front door, railing, and trim. So of course I was ready this time!! :)
This morning as I laid in bed, I reflected on the crazy week I've had and thought, ''What if Christ came today?'', would I say to Him, ''Wait Lord, I'm not ready! You didn't prepare me ahead of time of Your exact coming! I still haven't done this or that, I haven't truly given my all for You cause I thought I had time!'' ''Lord, can You come back a different time and I'll make sure I'm ready.''
Matthew 24:36-44 says, ''But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.''
Yes, my friends, He is coming!! Am I ready? How am I preparing for His return?
II Timothy 4:1-8 says, ''I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and th dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And thy shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned into fables. But watch thou in all things, endure affliction, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.''
Are we ready? or have we gotten too comfortable in this world?

Placing Everything in His Hands!!

The anguish I feel is just unbearable!! Today, right now as I write, my mom is in surgery!! I feel helpless as I can't be there for her. I know she is in good hands with the doctors and that my dad and one of my sisters are there for support. I want to badly be there as well!! As a kid, your mom does everything for you, she tends to your needs, nurses you back to health when you are sick, is your support, your rock, one who gives advise and encouragement. And now when it is her turn who needs nursing back to health, I can't be there to help!! Yes, I can still be there for her, encourage, support, and comfort her...over the phone :( just isn't the same. I know that my dad, sisters, and friends will be there to help her out in the weeks ahead, so I am thankful to know that she will be taken care of. I just wish I was there as well to help in any way that I can...so what I will continue to do is pray and leave everything in His hands in knowing that she will be ok and taken care of. Sorry, I guess this post was more out of venting my feelings...

Rambling Nonsense

Hmmm...well, I haven't blogged for awhile cause I really have nothing all too spectacular to write about. So, here are some rambling thoughts.
First off, IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!! Random thought, I wonder if my tongue would get stuck to the dog's chain? Alrighty then...lol!
Well, nothing new or exciting here...oh wait, PACKERS WON THE SUPERBOWL!!! Just in case, well, if ya didn't know already...ha!
Oooooo...it's suppose to get up to the 40's by Sunday!!! We've been doing a lot of ice fishing and well, it's no fun peeing in fridged temps in the woods, so 40's will be nice....HAHAHAHA!!! Woa...where am I going with this blog?? Not sure yet.
It's so nice to have a landlord who gets things fixed when needed...ok, ok so it's been about 5 months since it's been brought to their attention and they are just NOW fixing them....but at our last place, we were lucky if it ever got fixed!! So today, our toilet no longer leaks, I no longer have to fear that the stair railing will break off if one of the kids leaned against it, we no longer will have snow on the inside of the house from the front door, and the trim piece...well, let's just say, at least it's glued on...I guess...ha, yeah, looks splendid!!
Anyhoo...maybe I'll throw in a random picture too to go with my rambling nonsense blog. Can you guess what kind of bird do these feet belong to?? The tail will kind of help...maybe. Whoever can guess right is the winner!! Ha!

My cousin Taylor

Four years ago today, my cousin Taylor was taken into Glory to be with his Heavenly Father. Even though he was only 12 and we felt his time was short here on earth, God's ways are higher than our ways, His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. His timing was perfect. A part of us died that day, but we are filled with joy and hope that we will one day see him in Glory and have a huge family reunion with him and the many others who have passed before us.
We love you, Taylor!! You are forever in our hearts!!
